Fiber Optic Cabling Installation - IT Consultants in Costa Mesa CA
Fintech Communications' professional IT consultants take care of your Fiber Optic Cabling needs. We provide complete solutions to keep your small business running smoothly.
Fiber optic installation is a process for which you need to have knowledgeable and careful outsourcing provider. Fintech Communications follows these safety precautions prior to the installation. We don't take any part of this process for granted.
When installing fiber optics, the cable is used as a covering and protector for the fiber. There are different types of fiber and we choose the right cable for each specific installation.
Here are some procedures our technicians go by as we work on the fiber optic installation:
- Wear safety glasses at all times during the installation. When we're looking at the fibers, we may encounter small slivers of glass where the fibers have ended. At the end of the fibers it is very sharp and can cut into the skin. These slivers can also get into eyes and can be difficult to get out.
- We take precautions so as not to allow the glass slivers to get on the floor or carpet. They could cause injury after installation.
- We work in a clean area free of dirt and dust during the fiber optic installation. Any little speck can damage the connectors if it stays there. When we clean them, we use lint-free cloths and rubbing alcohol for the purest result.
- We make sure that the specific cable we use for the fiber optic installation is marked. They must be properly identified and classified with a rating from the National Electric Code (NEC). If they are not marked, they are not to be installed. It is very dangerous to install cable without them being properly marked.
- When pulling fiber optic cable, only the strength members are pulled from it. The jackets cannot be used to pull the cable.
- Each fiber optic cable has a pulling load rating. Whatever that rating is, it should not go beyond that.
- We do not allow kinks to get in the cable or they will be damaged. It may not happen right away, but eventually there will be a change.
- We don't allow the fiber optic cable to be twisted. The fibers can be damaged by doing so. To prevent that from happening, the cable should roll off of the spool.
Our consultants always make sure to have enough cable to finish the job on-time and on-budget. Splicing fiber and then having to use protection is not the right approach, and can increase the expense of the overall project. Our experts will plan every aspect regarding the fiber optic installation in advance.
We plan out the fiber, the cable and other components, where to install and the best timeline for your business. Making simple errors through poor planning with this type of installation can be costly. We go over everything to make sure that we have not missed anything, and our clients continue to recommend us time and again.
